10-07 The Dutch Embassy pays definitely our tickets. Thank you very much Linda Rademakers, for your mediation and help.
03-06 Today we spoke our tire sponsor Schwalbe and asked them if they have better tires than the ones we have now. Yes, they got them under construction, but they are not for sale yet. The socalled "Snake Skin" tires have an extra solid skin to reduce the chance on a punctured tire.
Bit by bit the bike will be optimized for the big adventure in Down Under.
30-05 Again we picked up the tandem at Goossens in Borculo. Toon "tandemgoeroe" Cornelissen assembled the fork on the tandem. He even found a company that painted the fork for free in the color of the bike.
05-05 We picked up the "Abel Tasman" at Goossens Rijwielen from Borculo. Tandem guru Toon Cornelissen, managed the bike.
- a "selfthinking" fork has been placed on the bike.
- Special brake-blocks for more brakepower.
- 2 special cycle chains with"idiot proof" punch.
- special saddler clampings to keep the saddles on the level.
- 2 course-pants from Goossens.
- 2 cycle shirts from Goossens.
- The measured "end slices" are not finished yet, because Toon has to measure these "in a minute".
At the end we were lectured about how to keep the tandem in repair.
In details Toon told us about all "ins en outs" in the domain of keeping it in repair.
We couldn't hardly wait to try the bike. On the road we drove back to Zeddam with an average of 36 km p/hour. As we arrived we linked up with the route of 's Heerenberg on our mountainbike.
The fork exceeded our greatest expectations, what a control! We raced with no effort on the route and the fork lead us very flexible over the road. Tired but satisfied we drove back to Francesco's place.
On sunday we get a new photoshoot in the new suits and of course we will be training a couple of hours on the tandem.
24-03 In and around Zeddam we gave interviews to the "Gelderlander" and the "Arnhemse Koerier" and also 2 photosessions which will be used to support the interviews in both papers next Wednesday march 29. So watch out!
We are still looking for a good (read: suitable) fork for the tandem. By watching pictures at the belgian meeting, it seems to be an absolute must to have a good fork, so you are not completely exhausted after 4 stages that you have to give up your contest. (it happened 2 times earlier in the history of the Crocodile).
We intent (if Fred will be recovered) to take part on the tandem in the Dutch militairy mountainbike championship that will take place on april 25. in Nieuw Millingen.
20-03 The negotiations with the headsponsor are at a deadlock at the moment...
18-03 We went to Sassenheim to pick up the tandem at Innobikes. From there we went to Wijnegem (B) where we looked backwards at the Crocodile Trophy 2005 in pub "De Vroege Morgen" (the early morning) and we had a preview of the Trophy of 2006. It was arranged by Team Sowat from Belgium. By means of a movie and the possibility to get in contact with the teams of previous years, we got a very good impression of what we can expect in Down Under, and that's quite a lot! The session was organized extremely well, also for the inner human being. After that we made a photosession for 3 Belgian papers with the tandem in front.
08-03 The Toyota Landcruiser for our care people has been reserved in Australia.
09-02 Schwalbe supports us! We get tyres for the bikes of Jan Mulder, tyres to train and tyres for the contest!
03-02 The great search has started for the headsponsor and other sponsors...suggestions?
24-01 The organisation of the Crocodile Trophy supports the good aim by decreasing the amount of registration with € 1000! Great, "Event Uell" thanks!
23-01 Official registration is confirmed. We are registrated with number 005/006 – 06 CT to participate in the contest.

16-01 The SANTOS Tandem is at the sprayshop to get a suitable colour.
14-01 Newspapers want interviews. We keep a distance from them untill the tandem is finished so we can supply beautifull photographs of it.
12-01The Cycleshop “Pedaleur” from Doetinchem supports us! This shop has become cycleshop of the year 2006!
