For visual disableds…… “ The tandems that we get by means of this action are just necessary and very, very needed for our foundation, so that we are able to let the blind and nearly blind people enjoy sports”. First let me introduce myself. My name is Jan Mulder. For many years I enjoyed the tandemsport myself. As a visual disabled man I always ride on the tandem. I have given myself in topsports and that resulted in wonderfull experiences. |
Now I have quit topsports I want other people to enjoy by means of the Tandem Foundation. As a blind or a visual disabled, cycling on a tandem is an ideal way of sports. If you have a person in front of the tandem, you don't need your eyes anymore and you can enjoy without any restriction.
You can take part in tours, contest teams or with other cyclists.
With the foundation we are busy with a number of contest cyclists to promote the tandemsport to blind and visually handicapped people.
We do this by organizing activities in schools and rehabilitation centres. Not only for the blind and visually handicapped people, but we also involve not visual disableds, because we always need people to sit in front of the tandem. The foundation organizes also on a regular base introduction tours and weekends.
